Information to collect before connecting a MAM account
This post is also available in Persian ←

Before a MAM connection, collect account, instrument, allocation and authority information without exposing secrets. Treat unknowns as unresolved conditions; complete paperwork is not trading authorisation.
Before connecting an account to MAM, establish which account is involved and under which rules it will be managed. Information gathering must not become a request for passwords in chat. Its purpose is a reviewable record of specifications, authority and constraints so incompatibilities become visible before reliance on execution.
Clarify account identity and status
Record the host and legal entity, account type, base currency and live or test environment. A non-sensitive identifier is enough for initial matching. Login information should only be handled through a genuinely available, verified secure route. Ownership, connection permission and agreement acceptance are separate matters; a dashboard screenshot does not establish them all.
Do not infer specifications from symbol names
Contract size, minimum quantity, quantity increment, trading hours and holding charges can differ across accounts. Similar symbols do not necessarily create similar exposure. Specifications must cover the actual account type and terms version rather than a generic page from another host.
A hypothetical incomplete match
Suppose the manager and subaccount both display the same symbol name but have different contract sizes. Transferring the quantity number directly without checking can create different exposure. This example instructs neither a connection nor a trade and describes no particular module. It shows why a symbol name alone is insufficient information.
Information for the review file
- The relevant account, currency, environment and contracting party.
- The allocation rule and quantity-conversion basis between accounts.
- Instrument, margin and minimum-size constraints on the subaccount.
- Manager permissions and genuinely enforceable controls.
- Reporting format, discrepancy route and termination rules.
Do not overlook existing account state
Open positions, pending instructions or another connection can affect a new arrangement. Establish whether they fall within the management scope and who is responsible for them. Do not treat a displayed free balance as certain order capacity without examining collateral and open losses.
Give each answer a source and date
Record official documentation or the responsible party’s response alongside each specification. Unknown answers should remain unresolved; saying that something usually works that way is insufficient for a material condition. Ask for clarification where sources conflict. A generic signed statement does not make incomplete information complete.
A prepared file is not an accepted connection
Technical reconciliation, appropriate testing and approval by authorised parties still follow information collection. Supplying details does not prove that all orders will execute or guarantee capital preservation. Managers can describe connection requirements without secrets in a cooperation inquiry. In account information, read method restrictions alongside specifications. This article requests no deposit and claims no automatically completed product MAM-connection workflow.
