Reporting strategy changes or increased risk to investors

Report method or exposure changes with versions, effective dates, reasons and limitations. Message receipt is not consent, and new descriptions must not conceal prior history.
When instruments, holding horizons or exposure sizes change, an old management description may no longer represent the account. Professional communication requires more than saying the method was optimised. Investors need to know what changes, when and how earlier assumptions are affected. This is a reporting framework, not a claim that every account has an active change-management workflow.
Compare the change with the previous version
Place before-and-after details side by side: instruments, horizon, quantities, leverage, exit rules or execution infrastructure. Practical differences matter more than a new method name. Correcting a typo is not equivalent to changing permitted trading scope. Identify the change type and why it matters.
Separate reasons from guaranteed outcomes
A manager can explain the observation or constraint behind a proposal without claiming that returns will certainly improve. If test evidence is provided, disclose periods, costs, assumptions and the boundary between backtests and live execution. A new method’s lack of live history must remain visible rather than inheriting the old method’s record without qualification.
A hypothetical substantive change
Suppose a method previously closed positions within the day and now proposes multi-day holding. Holding charges, market gaps and monitoring times may change. Keeping the account name unchanged does not remove those differences. This example recommends no particular horizon and describes no existing account.
Notice, receipt and consent differ
Sending a message does not prove receipt, and receipt does not necessarily establish valid consent to changed authority. Where the agreement or applicable rules require explicit approval, follow that process. Do not treat silence as acceptance without a valid basis. This article does not replace legal advice about consent or a particular agreement’s obligations.
Contents of a change notice
- Previous and new version numbers or dates.
- The difference, rationale and reviewable evidence.
- Proposed effective time and treatment of existing positions.
- Limitations, new risks and aspects not yet tested.
- Response responsibility, question channels and conditions of actual contractual options.
Record the transition separately
Old positions may remain open while new instructions follow different rules. Explain attribution in reports and who monitors the transition. Describe exit or objection routes only to the extent actually available in the agreement. Do not promise immediate withdrawals or cost-free exits without support.
Do not erase earlier history
Reports should show the boundary before and after the change and explain any aggregation. Selecting only the better segment or rewriting old descriptions using later knowledge distorts review. Retain notices, responses and decision dates with appropriate privacy protections. Publishing passwords or confidential strategy details is unnecessary.
In a manager cooperation introduction, explain change records and communication alongside the method itself. When browsing account information, check when its description was valid. This framework grants no automatic change authority or manager approval and guarantees no improvement. Advertising payments do not replace review or required consent.
