Choosing a platform through the account manager’s eyes: three deciding factors
This post is also available in Persian ←

For an account manager the platform is not just charts; it is capital-management infrastructure. Three factors decide the choice.
A retail trader can start with any platform; an account manager cannot. Because management infrastructure must fit the platform.
The three deciding factors
- Management method: PAMM/MAM depend on broker infrastructure; CAMM is cross-broker; DAMM and SAMM have mirror paths and slices. Choose your method first.
- Guardian modules: modules like SEPAR (MT4/MT5) must run on your platform and your investors’.
- The investor window: on which platform does your investor see reports? How do investor passwords and viewing tools work?
The takeaway
The platform is the last choice, not the first: method and rules first, then broker and platform. Methods review: the methods catalogue and the account manager guide.
Frequently asked questions
Where should a new manager start? From your method, not the platform: first decide PAMM/GAMM versus DAMM/SAMM; the platform follows.
My investors are on MT4 but I am on MT5 — a problem? It can be for MetaTrader-bound methods; CAMM’s cross-broker design solves exactly this. Compare the structures.
Does the platform affect fees? Indirectly yes; brokers price differently per platform. Always look at total cost.
My manager wants a different platform; what do I do? Fix the management method first; the method filters the possible platforms, not the other way round. If your chosen method runs on a particular platform, let the negotiation stay on the method and the platform follow it. Reverse the order and you lose all your options.
