Read-only investor password: why a request needs it and how to share it safely
This post is also available in Persian ←

The read-only investor password lets reviewers view an account — never trade or withdraw. Here is why the investor showcase asks for it and how to hand it over safely.
Two fields on the investor request form raise the most questions: the trading account number and the read-only investor password. An investor password is a viewing credential. With it, someone can see balance, open trades and account history, but cannot open or close an order and cannot withdraw a cent. PAMM Iran asks for it so that your request is matched against a real account with real investable balance rather than a screenshot or a claim.
Read-only investor password vs. the master password
Every MetaTrader account has three access layers: the master password, which permits trading and account management; the investor password, which permits viewing only; and the server address, which is just the connection endpoint. When you submit the investor password, a PAMM Iran reviewer can confirm your balance, open positions and history, and check that the capital floor in your request matches reality. Nobody can trade, place an order or withdraw with that password.
Why verification comes before publication
- No fantasy mandates: a request without real balance behind it wastes managers’ time and erodes trust in the whole showcase.
- Capital floor alignment: if your request declares a $20,000 floor, the reviewer checks that the account actually supports that capacity.
- Protection for you: a verified request tells managers you are a real allocator, and verified requests receive noticeably faster and better proposals.
- Account state on record: account type (Real or Demo) and broker are recorded during review so proposals are priced on facts.
Sharing the investor password safely
- Never send the master password: no step of the investor request flow needs it. If anyone asks for it, end the conversation there.
- Enter it only in the official form: the panel encrypts stored credentials; sending them over chat or email is never safe.
- Use a dedicated account if you prefer: you can open a separate trading account so that view access applies only to that account.
- Rotate the password after review: if you want to close view access too, change the investor password in MetaTrader and close the request.
Common myths
| Myth | Reality |
|---|---|
| “The investor password is the master password.” | No. The investor password grants view-only access with no trading or withdrawal rights. |
| “An investor password lets someone withdraw funds.” | No. Withdrawals are handled by the broker with the account owner’s identity checks. |
| “The password becomes public after review.” | No. Account data is visible only to the reviewing admin, never on the public page. |
| “I can publish without verifying the account.” | No. A request is not published without verification. |
Frequently asked questions
Do account managers see my investor password?
No. The data is used only by the PAMM Iran review team and never appears in proposals or on the public request page.
What if my account is at a different broker?
That is fine. Enter the account number and broker server; balance verification is broker-independent, and if your broker is not in the PAMM Iran directory you record its name and URL in the dedicated fields.
How long does the account review take?
Usually the same business day. If the connection details are incomplete, the request is returned for correction and re-enters the review queue once fixed.
What happens if I change or forget the password?
Recover or change it in MetaTrader and update the panel. Until the review is refreshed, the request stays in the pending-review state.
The bottom line
The read-only investor password is the trust layer of the investor showcase: the minimum access needed to prove an account is real, and the difference between an advertisement and an auditable mandate. Read the Trading Account Investors guide and how to publish a request.
