DAMM manager account type: Real vs Demo and what it changes
This post is also available in Persian ←

In DAMM, a manager may operate a Real or Demo account, and that choice directly affects guarantee rules. This article clarifies the difference and what to check before connecting.
In DAMM, capital and the master password stay with the investor while the manager executes through PAMM Iran’s synchronisation layer. One technical detail is rarely asked: what kind of account does the manager trade? The DAMM manager account type is not a label; it directly affects guarantee rules and your expectations of performance.
DAMM manager account type: Real vs Demo in proprietary methods
In PAMM Iran’s four proprietary methods (GAMM, CAMM, DAMM and SAMM), the manager may operate a Real or Demo account, and the type is recorded on the public specification page. The essential difference: in a Real account the manager’s own capital is exposed to the market, while in a Demo account their personal funds are not at risk. That is why the platform applies a performance-guarantee rule to the Demo state.
Guarantee rules in both states
| State | Performance guarantee | Fee settlement |
|---|---|---|
| Manager on a Real account | None | Performance fee transferred to PAMM Iran at scheduled maturities |
| Manager on a Demo account (4 proprietary methods) | Manager’s profit share held for 15 days by default (admin-configurable) | After collection, the share remains with PAMM Iran as the guarantee |
In both states there is no upfront loss deposit and no automatic loss compensation; any loss-related question is reviewed and decided by PAMM Iran. The full policy is in the TARAZ guarantee article.
Why the account type matters
- Realistic expectations: Demo performance can look better than live results because real-money pressure is absent.
- Guarantee rules: only the Demo state in proprietary methods carries a guarantee; a Real account has none.
- Decision style: some managers experiment on Demo and behave differently on Real; whose record are you actually reading?
- Disclosure: a manager who hides the account type has already given you a warning sign.
Questions for the first call with a DAMM manager
Ask four things before discussing returns. First: is your source account Real or Demo, and can I see the status on the public page? Second: what is your maximum historical drawdown and in which market conditions did it occur? Third: how do you size positions relative to the investor’s capital, and who adjusts the multiplier? Fourth: what happens on the settlement date if the account is in drawdown? A manager who answers these with numbers and references is telling you more than a page of performance history.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Demo manager mean trades are simulated on my account?
No. Trades reach your real account; Demo refers to the manager’s source account, not yours.
Can I exclude Demo managers?
Yes. Account filters show the account state, so you can shortlist Real-only options. Keep in mind that a Demo record can still be useful for judging style.
What if a manager switches from Real to Demo mid-way?
The switch must be disclosed and recorded on the account page; once in the Demo state, the Demo guarantee rules apply.
Does the guarantee mean profit is guaranteed?
No. The performance guarantee is a discipline mechanism that holds the manager’s profit share; it is not a guarantee of profit or principal.
