Broker legal entities and the account agreement
This post is also available in Persian ←

A broker brand is not necessarily your account’s contracting entity. Check the legal name, jurisdiction, authorization scope, complaint route and changes to the actual agreement.
A familiar broker brand may operate through different companies in several jurisdictions. Recognizing the brand does not establish which company contracts with your account or which rules apply. When reviewing a managed-account host, identify the counterparty from that account’s documents rather than a logo or general promotional page.
Reconcile the opening form and accepted agreement
Compare the full legal name, address, registration jurisdiction and stated identifiers across the opening form, agreement and account confirmation. If names differ, request an official explanation before drawing conclusions. A marketing company, technology provider and trading counterparty can perform different roles; they should not automatically be treated as one entity.
Match authorization to the entity and activity
A displayed license number is not enough. Where an official register is accessible, compare the legal identity and authorized activities with that register. The current status and observation date matter. Authorization held by one group company does not automatically extend to another company, every service or all customers of the group.
This check does not settle the legal position of a specific account. Customer classification, residence, instruments and acceptance terms can affect rights and restrictions. Record unavailable evidence as unavailable; a professional-looking website is not an official confirmation.
Read these agreement sections separately
- The contracting entity and the roles of other named companies.
- Account type, permitted instruments and terms for changing specifications or restrictions.
- How client funds are held and the limits of stated customer protections.
- The complaint procedure, governing law and stated dispute forum.
- Contract transfer, termination and access to historical records.
A hypothetical misunderstanding
A user reads a page describing one group company and assumes the same protection applies to their account, but the opening confirmation identifies another company. The appropriate response is not to carry over the first page’s claims: the second account’s terms need their own review. This example concerns neither a named broker nor a guarantee of compensation.
A counterparty change is not merely cosmetic
If an account transfer or new agreement is proposed, retain the old and new versions, effective date and process for accepting or declining. A change can affect dispute handling, available services or record access. An unchanged login or dashboard appearance does not prove that the earlier conditions remain intact.
The manager and host have different roles
A manager may explain strategy and performance without being an authoritative source on your contractual rights. Review the manager’s mandate separately from the host agreement and rules. A referral payment or verbal reassurance does not replace legal documentation and independent checking.
When reading account information and management methods, place the host’s brand beside the actual contracting entity. Use the platform guides to understand available review processes, not as a certificate of a company’s authorization.
This is an educational checklist, not legal advice or a universal broker recommendation. A material commitment or dispute may require a professional familiar with the agreement and relevant jurisdiction. Clear identity guarantees neither profits nor recovery of a claim.
