Disclosing introducer incentives in managed-account referrals
This post is also available in Persian ←

Managed-account referrals should make incentives, responsibilities and risks clear. Referral payments must not replace an independent assessment of performance and account quality.
An introducer can help someone find information about a managed trading account or understand how to submit an inquiry. If the introducer receives a benefit for doing so, that relationship may influence what they select and how they describe it. Transparency means the reader understands who benefits before deciding, rather than discovering the relationship after funding an account.
Which incentives should be explained?
A benefit is not limited to a fixed cash payment. A fee share, activity-based reward, service discount or commercial relationship with the manager or account host may also matter to the reader. Explain the type and conditions in plain language. If the amount varies, describe what makes it vary; do not invent a fixed figure that differs from the actual agreement.
Legal requirements for advertising and financial referrals depend on jurisdiction, service type and the parties' roles. This article does not replace legal review of an agreement or licensing requirements. Not knowing of a prescribed disclosure sentence is not a reason to conceal a commercial relationship.
Where should the disclosure appear?
The reader should see it near the referral and before a consequential action. Hiding it in lengthy terms or low-contrast text does not serve transparency. In an article, banner or landing page, distinguish a commercial introduction from editorial analysis. A short wording example is: “We may receive a benefit for introducing you, under our cooperation terms. This relationship does not establish account quality or guarantee returns.” This is a drafting example only and must reflect the actual arrangement.
What should an introducer not guarantee?
- Fixed profits, certain capital preservation or certain reimbursement of losses, based merely on a manager's statement rather than a specifically evidenced and legally reviewed claim.
- A platform endorsement that is not supported by the account's actual review status and evidence.
- That a higher ranking, follower count or advertising payment makes an account suitable for every investor.
- Immediate withdrawals when the agreement, open positions or account host impose other restrictions.
What does a responsible referral journey need?
The link should lead to a clearly identified account page or relevant guide. The destination title, management method, performance-data status, costs and risk notice should match the referral's claims. If essential information is unavailable, say so. Do not fill the gap with a sample chart or another account's experience.
For a cooperation inquiry, necessary contact details and an explanation of the proposed role should suffice. Account passwords, API keys or withdrawal details should not be requested in referral copy or public messages. A referral link also does not authorize unlimited tracking. Any measurement plan must align with privacy policies and applicable consent requirements.
Referral payments must remain separate from trust scores
An advertising placement can be identified as advertising, but payment must not alter trading history, verification evidence, quality scores or an independent review's outcome. Equally, the end of a commercial relationship must not itself prompt a fabricated negative assessment. The same review criteria should apply to advertisers and non-advertisers.
To understand the process, review the Pamm Iran cooperation inquiry. Before referring an investor, also read the platform guides and the destination's actual information. These links do not promise acceptance, introducer income or investment success.
A pre-publication referral checklist
Is the commercial relationship clear? Do the claims match the destination? Are risk and withdrawal constraints explained? Is there a route for questions or complaints? If any answer is no, fix the copy or destination first. More clicks are not a substitute for trust and accountability.
Compare the track record, drawdown and costs of PAMM, MAM and copy-trading accounts, with the source and time of every figure.
