Prop Shield: configure SEPAR for challenge account rules

Challenge configuration of the existing SEPAR EA: loss baselines, safety buffer, manual installation and hedge limitations without a pass guarantee.

What is Prop Shield?

Prop Shield is a configuration of SEPAR for a challenge account, not a separate tool or pass insurance. Take the daily and total limits from your firm’s current rules; firms do not share one universal rule.

Compatibility checklist

  • Does the firm permit EAs and opposite positions for this account type?
  • Is loss measured against balance or equity, and when does the daily baseline reset?
  • Is total drawdown fixed or trailing?
  • Do SEPAR’s local baselines match the firm’s rules? Entering the same percentage alone is insufficient.

Manual setup

Record the limits and buffer in the SEPAR workspace. Enter the same InpDailyLossPct, InpTotalDdPct and InpHedgeBufferPct values in the MT4/MT5 source and compile in MetaEditor. The web form does not push settings to the terminal. The buffer must be smaller than both limits. In the current source version, after subtracting the buffer, the effective daily trigger has a 0.2% floor and the effective total trigger a 0.5% floor; these technical floors are not the firm’s rules and may change in another source version.

The current version calculates the daily baseline using the Tehran calendar day and the total baseline from the highest equity stored in that terminal. If the firm ends its day in another time zone, starts its baseline at account inception or uses balance instead, even correct percentages can trigger early, late or not at all relative to the firm’s rule. If the EA rejects its inputs during initialization, it will not run; check the Experts and Journal tabs after compiling and attaching it.

SEPAR measures whole-account equity, but an opposite-order request covers net lots on the current chart symbol. On a netting account it may reduce, close or reverse exposure. Test compatibility outside the challenge first.

Limits

A market-order request is not a pre-positioned pending order. Connectivity, margin, gaps and broker rules may delay or reject it. A hedge does not erase floating loss or guarantee a fill, a loss cap or a challenge pass. Trading Emergency review after an event is optional, not guaranteed recovery.
